In contemporary times, particularly in the Western world, Feng Shui is used almost exclusively in the fields of interior architecture, interior design, or within private properties.
As introduced in the article "The Theory of the Five Phases of Chi", Feng Shui relies on the phases of Chi and the relationships between them to create harmony between humans and their living spaces.
A Feng Shui analysis helps determine the most suitable arrangement for furnishing a space, ensuring harmony with the people who live or work there.
For example, if a consultation reveals that both the space and its occupants would benefit from the introduction of elements associated with the Water Phase, the recommendation would favor colors ranging from light blue to dark blue or black, as well as materials such as glass and fluid shapes.

The choice of Yin colors (dark shades) in interior design can create stagnant energy. For this reason, they are more suitable for open-plan public spaces (Yang environments), such as restaurants or bars, where energy has more room to flow freely.
At the same time, in cases where a room’s layout is not conducive to a harmonious life, specific colors and shapes may be needed to restore balance. More precisely, when a room receives conflicting energy (such as water and earth, which create stagnation), metal colors and elements are preferred to establish harmony.
Stagnant energy can lead to "Chi blockages," which are often responsible for illnesses or unfavorable life situations.
Every home has its own personality and unique energy pattern that should be identified and respected to live in peace both within and with it.
In this article, I’ve focused a lot on the concept of 'stagnant energy'… Stay tuned! Next week, I’ll share a brief introduction to the topic, and in December, we’ll have a special event with holistic practitioner Sara Poletta to discuss "When Energy Stagnates – How the Body and Home Respond."
